Florida Keys Beaches

Florida Keys Beaches consists of 17 beaches and one follow the other as pearls on a string as you drive down The Overseas Highway.

Although The Florida Keys are tropical islands, most of them are ancient reef beds that were exposed as the sea levels dropped many thousands of years ago. Being chunks of coral rock, most do not have beaches like you would see in other parts of the Gulf and Atlantic shores.

There are both private and public beaches, and the majority of them are small and manmade.

There are 17 beaches here, and here they are as you pass them on your way from Florida to Key West.
