So you (would) love living in Florida Keys and experience Florida Keys living too!

What is it actually like to be living in florida keys?
- and how is the Florida Keys living when you first get there? This was a question we started to ask our selves in October 2010, as we first got this idea to make a website about Florida Keys.

Would we love to have a home there? Actually move there to live there all year, or may be have a second home there and then go there on vacation every year?

We, by the way, are Kjell from Norway and Morten from Denmark, living in Spain, but you will get to know us later, now it is time to get on with our story.

Would there be enough things to spend time on doing year after year living in Florida Keys?

Would we be able to do the things there, that we love to do where we are now, like playing golf, fishing, watching soccer and walking, or would we have to start on something new like diving and snorkeling or watching american football?

This was some of the questions we wanted answered.

Why did we choose the Florida Keys?

We have a mutual friend who has been living there for several years and always told us how great the Florida Keys living is, so it felt natural to pick that area - well we did do some research also, and found out, that the Keys is one of the most search for areas in the world on Google (that might also be why you are here now), so these two things made the decision simple.

We started to look for information on the internet - and there are a lot of information - but we did not find any information written by normal people, who just wanted to share their experience with us (and other people like "us"). We wanted to "hear" from normal people what they have experienced, is experiencing and want to experience in their own words.

We wanted to build a simple website where, no matter what you are searching for in regards to the good life Living in Florida Keys, you will find this website.

We had for several years been studying and learning how to build a website, and we felt we were ready to build. Now it was time to take it to the next level, to build - really build a website, that would be simple for people to use to find information on, and with content easy to understand written by normal people to normal people.

In the beginning we used time on finding the right name for the site, but as it is not everybody that would want to read about this, we have not put this story here.

We knew we needed a third person, a contact person, someone living in Florida Keys, as we did not live their - in fact we had not even been there before. The closest we had ever been to the Keys was back in january 2007 where we stayed for about a week in Orlando.

We wrote an email and sent it out to Realtors there, as when we would be coming there to buy a home (or at least a second home if we liked the area), we might as well get in touch with one right away.

We heard back from BJ and the funny thing is that when we later talked with her about the project and she joined it. We asked for her reason for responding to the mail and it was the finishing line in the mail, which said:

"Have the best day of your life"

(Would you like to read the mail we sent, then ).

She said that this line was what caught her attention as here she knew it was not a machine, but that there was a real human behind.

This is what we want with this website as well, we want it to be real normal human beings writing to other normal human beings telling them in their own words what it is they love about living in Florida Keys and the Florida Keys living.
